Meeting manatee conservation heroes

On June 6, 2024, Jacob went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium for Echoes of the Ocean — “Superheroes of Manatee Conservation.” He was 11. He met Jamal Galves, Dr. James “Buddy” Powell, and Tanya Ward.

That is the same age CMA says Jamal was when he first met Dr. Powell and asked to join the manatee team in Belize.

Jamal invited Jacob to join Belize manatee work. The expeditions that followed are Belize 2025 and Belize 2026.
