Jacob TindallA special friend at Clearwater Marine Aquarium
In June 2023, Tampa Bay 28 (WFTS) shared a story from Clearwater Marine Aquarium summer camp: Jacob Tindall and Nicholas, a rescue dolphin who lives there.
The report described Jacob drawing nearby while Nicholas stayed upside down beside him. Jacob said that moment reminded him he had “a very special bond with this dolphin and a very special friend.”
CMA’s page on Nicholas explains that he stranded as a calf on Christmas Eve in 2002 and could not return to the wild. He remains in the aquarium’s care.
A CMA staff post later used the story as an example of why education programs matter: time with animals in care can inspire future biologists, trainers, veterinarians, and advocates.
